Charlie Daniels was born in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1937. The guitarist and fiddler is one of country music's most distinct voices. Today, he is a musical legend in the United States, and he's also a proud Christian. ;
As a child, Daniels sang during religious services at the Pentecostal Church. After wandering from Christianity for a period, he returned with his faith stronger than ever. Daniels is now a leader in Christian country. In 1979, he won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance for his classic, 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia.'
Charlie Daniels plays the guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle. He says his musical diversity surprises attendees at his concerts.
He still tours aggressively, performing dozens of shows per year. His blend of country, Southern rock, and religious music still generates large crowds.
