The bishops of Bosnia- Herzegovina went to Rome for their 'ad limina' visit to meet with Pope Francis.
The Pope gave them a written speech. He discussed the war, which ended in 1995 but continues to impact the country. Immigration and unemployment remain major issues. Pope Francis asked them to focus their energy on the weak, especially those who want to remain in the country.
On June 6, the Pope will travel to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina. One of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history took place there.
Before leaving, the cardinal from Sarajevo conveyed a message to the Pope.
'The whole Church of Bosnia-Herzegovina prays for your visit.'
The Pope didn't end the meeting with a good-bye. Instead, he said, 'See you soon.â?
