The Pope attended a mass celebrated by a large group of Koreans in St. Peter's Basilica. During the Korean bishop's 'ad limina visit to Rome, Pope Francis recalled the trip to Korea he made last summer.

POPE FRANCIS
'The joy of visiting Korea has not left my heart. It was a beautiful, precious visit, and I cannot forget your faith and your zeal.'

He asked them to remain vigilant to overcome the temptations of the devil, who can weaken their faith.

POPE FRANCIS
'The devil is clever and will propose comfortable Catholicism,  'We are good Catholics, but up to here.' And he will take the force. Do not forget, please: you are children of martyrs and apostolic zeal. You cannot negotiate.â?

To avoid this, Pope Francis reminded them that the Korean Church is built upon the thrust of the laity and the blood of martyrs. He asked them not to forget their roots as they enter the future.

POPE FRANCIS
'You are a church of martyrs and this is a promise for all of Asia. Do not give in. Nothing of spiritual worldliness, nothing. Nothing in Easy Catholicism. None of  religious well-being. Love Jesus Christ. Love the Cross of Jesus Christ, and love your story.'

Before leaving, the Pope prayed a Hail Mary with them and asked them not forget to pray for him.
