During his general audience on Wednesday, February 4th, Pope Francis again denounced the situation in Ukraine. He called for an end to fratricidal violence.
POPE FRANCIS
FEBRUARY 4
'Let us pray firstly for the victims, many of whom are civilians, and their families, and let us ask the Lord for an end, as soon as possible, to this horrible fratricidal violence. Think, this is a war between Christians! You have all had the same baptism! You are fighting among yourselves, with other Christians.â?
The Vatican insists on a diplomatic, peaceful solution to the conflict. Father Federico Lombardi read a statement that left no doubts about the Holy See's position.
