Experts from 40 countries are meeting at the Vatican to showcase successful educational projects that help children.

These experts are part of the Scholas network, an educational initiative from Pope Francis that has already recruited 400,000 schools throughout the world.

MIGUEL C. RUEDA ROMAN
Director of the Padre Jacobo School (Spain)
'We have presented a project called twinning students. All students at the school have an older brother who accompanies them and helps them in their daily lives, in their routine.'

JUAN JOSÉ PRECIADO
Unity in Diversity Foundation (Argentina)
'Using technological advances, we have created a virtual museum. It allows all Scholas network schools to exhibit their works of art.'

This project lets children compete with students schools in other countries. The goal is to help educate them by creating a dialogue with others their age who belong to different cultural, religious and social realities.

ALESSANDRA MINNICELLI
President, Social Responsibility Observatory Foundation (Argentina)
'Pope Francis' proposal is not only innovative but it is also necessary. We have come to support the Scholas proposal because of its enormous potential.

Pope Francis will video conference with five disabled children, who live in other parts of the world, this Thursday. It will mark the launch of a new online tool: Scholas.Labs, which was created in partnership with Google, Microsoft and IBM.
