What does Nelson Mandela, Bill Gates and U2 singer Bono have in common with the Vatican's Foreign Minister? They have all received Mexico's highest distinction, awarded specifically to foreigners.
Msgr. Dominique Mamberti received the award recently in Mexico's Embassy to the Holy See.

'As the Holy See's Secretary for Relations with States, over the last decade, he has played a valuable contribution in promoting the bilateral relationship between Mexico and the Holy See.â?'Because of this, in response to the Order of the Aztec Eagle Council, Mexico's president is pleased to bestow upon you, your Excellency, the Great Cross of the Order, as a sign of gratitude for your friendship and closeness to the people and government of Mexico.â?
Other recipients were Antoine Camilleri, who holds the number two post in the Holy See's Relations with States. Also on the list, Italian Paolo Gualtieri, who focuses on diplomacy in North America and Alberto Gasbarri, who deals with logistics in papal trips.
