Any given week, thousands of people visit the Vatican for a chance to see Pope Francis. In 2014 alone, almost 6 million pilgrims took part in Papal celebrations, which is roughly 700,000 less than 2013. ;

GENERAL AUDIENCES
The Pope led a total of 43 weekly general audiences this year, bringing in 1,199,000 people. The month with the most pilgrims was April with 205,000 people. ;

SPECIAL AUDIENCES
When it comes to special audiences 567,100 people took part. June was the month that brought in the most pilgrims with 208,500.

LITURGICAL CELEBRATIONS
The month of April was a busy one. There were special liturgical celebrations like the canonization of John Paul II and John XXIII. Also Holy Week. ;According to the Vatican, 730,000 people participated in the Pope's Masses that month alone. Throughout the year, a total of 1,110,700 people took part. ;

ANGELUS ;
The Sunday Angelus topped the charts. A total of 3,040,000 people came out to St. Peter's Square on Sunday to see the Pope lead this prayer. The month with the most pilgrims was January, with 600,000 people. ;
