'The actual image we have of Our Lady is one that wasn't done by mankind, but rather it was painted by God Himself. It miraculously appeared on the cloak of St. Juan Diego.â?
Nearly 600 priests will concelebrate the Mass along with Pope Francis, most of them are from Latin America. Others will come from the U,S and even Philippines, since our Lady is also the patroness of that country.
Pope Francis is not the first Pope to have a strong devotion towards Our Lady. John Paul II would pray to her quite often.

'While visiting Mexico, St. John Paul II dedicated his pontificate to Our Lady. After visiting Her shrine and offering his pontificate to her, he began a missionary journey. He traveled all over the world, visiting all continents and every corner.â?
Roughly 20 million pilgrims visit Mexico's Sanctuary of Guadalupe every year, making it one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world.
On December 12, St. Peter's Basilica will resemble this very Sanctuary, honoring the uniting spirit of Our Lady.
