On Sunday, Pope Francis canonized Kuriakose Elias Chavara and Eufrasia of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, two new saints from India. During the Angelus prayer, Pope Francis greeted pilgrims from the country, calling it a 'great land of faith and religious vocation.

POPE FRANCIS
'Let the Lord grant the Church in India â?? that is so good! â?? a new missionary drive so that, inspired by its example of concord and reconciliation, the Christians in India can proceed in the way of solidarity and fraternal coexistence.â?

The Pope had also canonized the Italians Giovanni Antonio Farina, Ludovico da Casoria, Nicola da Longobardi and Amato Ronconi. He called upon the Italian people to follow their example and reawaken a spirit of reconciliation and unity for the common good.
