Pope Francis celebrated a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica in honor of the cardinals and bishops who passed away in the last 12 months.
A total of ten cardinals and 111 bishops died this year in different parts of the globe.

In his homily, the Pope explained that the key to Christian faith is found in the death and Resurrection of Jesus.

'There lies the answer. There is the foundation, the rock. Not in the persuasive words of wisdom, but rather in the living word of the cross and the resurrection of Jesus.â?
The cardinals of the Roman Curia concelebrated the Mass with the Pope. Currently, there are 210 cardinals of which 113 are electors.
