In his  homily at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis stressed that the devil exists, and that Christians must constantly fight against him and other temptations.

POPE FRANCIS
'This generation â?? along with many others â?? has been taught that the devil is a myth, a figure, an idea, the idea of evil. But the devil exists, and we must fight against him.â?

The Pope explained that Christian life has three enemies: the devil, the world and the temptations of the flesh. However, he assured that God acts as an armor and is alongside Christians during their battles.

POPE FRANCIS
'And Paul explains this armor of God, what the different armors are that form this great armor of God. And he says: 'Stand firm, and, at your waist, carry truth'. This is God's armor: the truth.

He added that the devil is the father of lies, and that, despite counting on God's support, every Christian must defend his faith.
