From Pompeii, Italy to Schí¶nstatt, Germany. The Schí¶nstatt Apostolic Movement will commemorate their 100th anniversary and these 80 youth will run over 1000 miles to celebrate.

'Each one of us has an intention from one person and while we run, we will pray for that intention, for that person who sent it to us. So our marathon becomes a prayer of faith that we will do.

The marathon will last nine days until they reach their destination. They will carry a torch that symbolizes the flame of their movement which they will pass along to others.

'We will not run everyday. We will be taking turns because if not, it will be too tiring and we are many, from many parts of the world. We all want to run, we all want to do our part in this great feat, and we believe it's worth it.

Pope Francis lit the torch during a General Audience. That moment, they said, was very emotional.

'It was a great joy, even more so for us Argentinians, who come with the hope to see him. It is a great joy know that he represents us, that he represents the whole Church and that he is a model to follow. It was a very emotional moment, we were very happy. We wanted to give him some mate tea but he couldn't hear us. Bad luck, I guess, but maybe next time.

While some may think their idea is crazy, the youth said they want to be 'a living sign that God is acting in our time.
