This book tells of how Pope Francis met Eva Perón. He was a child when the first lady of Argentina entered a center where the young Jorge Mario Bergoglio studied. Evita greeted the future Pope.
But beyond that story, 'Aquel Francisco' (That Francis) speaks of the years the Pope spent in the city of Córdoba, a bittersweet period in which he learned a lot.

'If the Pope says that he went through a time of purification in Córdoba, it means that it was a special time for him and the Church today.'
The years in Córdoba were divided in two stages. The first in which Jorge Mario Bergoglio was just a 21 year old novice. The second, when at 54 years old he sent to that city.

'He was provincial of the Order in Argentina at a young age. It was at a very politically and economically charged time. It was also the time of post Vatican II in the Church and with a great ideological revolution. He then had to make decisions that generated both love and hate.'
For months, the authors spoke over the phone with the Pope. From those conversations, the book gathers details on the personality of Pope Francis.

'He remembered, for example, the names of two brothers who at the time were 10 and 12 years old, and who lived, the Pope recalled , in calle Pringles, a very small street in Argentina. While writing our book, we found those two people. We showed the Holy Father the picture we took with them and he was moved when we met with him yesterday.'
All those memories were relived during that meeting where Pope Francis met the authors of the book. For a few moments, he returned to the small city of Córdoba, where he spent the most unforgettable and decisive moment of his life.
