Before Wednesday's General Audience, Pope Francis met with a group of albinos at the Paul VI Audience Hall. The Pope greeted each person one by one.

After greeting them, he thanked them for their visit and asked for their prayers.

POPE FRANCIS
'I thank you for your visit. Thank you very much. I ask you to pray for me, please do not forget. So that I can go forward with my work. I will pray for all of you and for the children.

He then led them in praying the Hail Mary and gave them his blessing before heading out to St. Peter's Square for the General Audience.

The plight of albinos, who are often victims of discrimination or even violence, is an issue close to the Pope's heart.

He recently lent his voice for the social audiobook 'Ombra Bianca (White Shadow), an initiative launched to aid albinos in Africa.
