The United Nations will pay tribute to Mother Teresa once more. In the year 2012, it designated September 5 as the International Day of Charity, in her honor.
UN wanted the International Day of Charity to mark the anniversary of her death and the legacy she left behind.
In his message for this year's celebration, the General Secretary of United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, highlighted the example of Mother Teresa, whose good works for the poorest and most vulnerable has been an enormous inspiration.
Each International Day of Charity, the UN wants to encourage individuals, governments and NGOs worldwide to help those in need.
