Two days before the beginning of his trip to South Korea, Pope Francis sent a video message to the Asian country.
The Pope directed to Asian Youth. On Friday, August 15th, he will meet thousands of young adults in the Sanctuary of Solmoe and will become the first Pope to take part in an Asian Youth Day.
POPE FRANCIS
'Young people are the bearers of hope and energy for the future. But they also are victims of the moral and spiritual crisis of our time. That is why I want to announce to them and to all the only name in which we can be saved: Jesus, the Lord.â?
The theme of the 6th Asian Youth Day is 'Asian Youth, Wake Up! The Glory of the Martyrs Shines On You.â? It emphasizes one of the central points of the Pope's trip: the key role martyrs played in the history of the Korean Church.
POPE FRANCIS
'The light of the risen Christ shines as if in a mirror in the testimony of Paul Yun Ji-Chung and his 123 companions, all of them martyrs of the faith, whom I will proclaim Blessed next August 16 in Seoul.â?
Pope Francis will visit South Korea from August 13 to 18. This travel marks his third international trip and his first visit to the Asian continent.
