In war, there's always pain and suffering. Art isn't always about beauty. This exhibit reflects different wars that raged between the year 1800 and 2014. It includes works of artists like Goya, Delacroix, Capa, Picasso and Ming.

It's called 'The Disasters of War,' which is also the same name Goya chose for his war drawings when Napoleon invaded Spain.

Up until then wars were depicted as heroic battles. But in the late 19th century artists like Goya and Géricault began to show the most horrible aspects of war and the terrible consequences it had on life.

It includes paintings, sculptures, photography and video. Even though the exhibit is about war, it's all underlined by one major question: why not opt for peace?

Exhibit Curator
'People now know the disastrous consequences war triggers, yet they continue to fight. The exhibit is a reflection of this concept.â?

The temporary exhibit is taking place in the Louvre Lens Museum, north of Paris. Through its 450 art pieces, it reflects the destruction caused by 20 different wars.
