CARD. FRANCESCO MARCHISANO
January 2004
'The work in service of the Church is to do the best job possible. Since one person cannot do everything, we try to do this task in the best way possible.

Pope Francis issued a telegram expressing his condolences and recalling his life dedicated to the Church and his fondness for art and culture.

With his death, the College of Cardinals decreases to 212 members. But since he was over 80, he was not eligible to vote in the 2013 conclave. The number of papal electors remains at 118.
