Pope Francis received participants of the summer course organized by the School of Astrophysics of the Vatican Observatory at the Apostolic Palace today.
The 25 students from 23 countries spent almost one month in Castelgandolfo studying the galaxies. During the audience, the Pope highlighted the example they give to the world.
POPE FRANCIS
'For nearly a month now, you have dedicated yourselves not only to the study of galaxies, under the guidance of professors who are experts in this field, but have also shared your own cultural and religious traditions. In this way, you have offered an impressive example of dialogue and and of harmonious cosexistence.â?
Pope Francis reminded them of the relationship that exists between, science, reason and faith. He said the Church dialogues with the Sciences from the faith, so that reason can be enriched and broaden its horizons.
The Pope invited them to share the knowledge they have received. He said that only a 'very small partâ? of the world population have opportunities like theirs.

'It is only right that men and women everywhere should have access to research and scientific training. The hope that one day all peoples will be able to enjoy the benefits of science is one which urges all of us.â?
The Pope explained that Science opens the heart and the mind to the great questions thought by human beings. He added that looking for the answers to these questions is a step towards meeting with God.
