The International Catholic Film Festival 'Mirabile Dictu' announced last week the movies shortlisted fir its top award, the Silver Fish.
Among the nominees is the French production 'The Apostle.â? It tells the story of a Muslim called to be an imam, who finds Christ. The American production 'The Letters,' a biopic on the life of Mother Teresa, is also in running.
Spanish film 'A Forbidden God,' is among the favorites in the competition, known as the Catholic 'Oscars.'

Set in the early days of the Spanish Civil War, it tells the martyrdom of 51 religious, most of them seminarians.
Organizers believe that the Mirabile Dictu Film Festival, now in its fifth edition, gets more quality and recognition every year.

Overall, more than 1,600 movies from 120 countries sent in entries in the competition.
On June 26 the jury will announce which one gets the prized and characteristic award of the festival, the Silver Fish.
