Pope Francis met on Friday morning with the President of the Dominican Republic, Danilo Medina at the Apostolic Palace. It was a meeting with some light-hearted moments.

'Here comes...the plague.

They talked about the contribution of the Catholic church in the country, especially in areas like education and health, as well as the country's latest laws on immigration.

After the briefing, President Medina introduced Pope Francis to several members of his delegation.

He then gave Pope Francis a rosary made of amber, which is a characteristic stone of the country. Also a box made of coconut.

Pope Francis gave him a medallion with Bernini's original design for St. Peter's Basilica engraved, as well as a copy of the Aparecida Document and of his apostolic exhortation 'Evangelii Gaudium.'

Pope Francis joked around until their farewell.

'God bless you
'It's been a pleasure.
'Pray for me.
'May you have health.
'You too.

Daniel Medina is the third President of the Dominican Republic to meet privately with a Pope.
