The Pope is taking a few days off to rest. He cleared out most of his schedule on Monday and on Tuesday, which is usually a lighter day, he also canceled his appointments. ;

The Vatican's spokesperson said it's nothing serious, but rather due to a slight 'indisposition.'

It's that much of a surprise. ;The 77 year old Pontiff had a grueling weekend. ;

Most notably, there's the intense prayer session with the Presidents of Israel and Palestine, in the Vatican Gardens, which is something that's been officially in the works since the Pope's visit to the Holy Land. ;

Earlier that day, he celebrated Pentecost Mass in St. Peter's Basilica, to mark the end of Easter. ;

A day before, he welcomed thousands of athletes to St. Peter's Square where they showed off their skills. The Pope then addressed them in a speech, with Rome's intense summer heat.

That same day, he welcomed Mexico's president to the Vatican's Apostolic Palace and then in another meeting he met with an Argentinian indigenous group for about 45 minutes. ;

On Friday, the Pope did a few rounds on the popemobile, to welcome more than 50,000 members of Italy's ;military police force, or Carabinieri, in St. Peter's Square. ;

The month of June will be a busy month for the Pope, with a heavy list of public and private meetings and celebrations, so taking a few days off is not only well deserved, but also a wise choice. ;
