Pope Francis was right on schedule as he arrived to airport in Tel Aviv, on board this car.

Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed him on arrival. With a firm handshake they said their goodbyes.

On the way to the tarmac, both delegations, from the Vatican and Israel, exchanged thanks yous and farewells.

Netanyahu offered a few last words before the Pope boarded the plane.

Holy Father, thank you for talking about my father's book. I truly appreciate it.

It's a very good book. It's beautiful.

Bon voyage, and we pray for you and your pray for us.

It was almost 8:20PM local time in Israel when the El Al plane took off, concluding the Pope's pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

The Pope returned to Rome after three days loaded with important meetings and actions. Among them: the embrace with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and the promise from the Israeli and Palestinian presidents to travel to the Vatican to pray for peace.
