(-VIDEO ONLY-) The world's pastor, John Paul II, waited more than two decades to visit the birthplace of Christianity. But in the year 2000, he followed in the footsteps of Paul VI.
John Paul II landed in Jordan on May 20, making his way to Amman and the River Jordan. He was the first Pope to visit Palestinian leaders in home soil. ;
The Pope also visited Israel, traveling to Jerusalem and Nazareth. Throughout his trip, his frailty stood out. Still, he carried on for seven days, taking off on May 26.
