Italy and Greece are joining forces to showcase 25 masterpieces that shed light on Ancient Greece. The exhibit titled 'Classicism and Europe' is taking place in Rome's Palacio del Quirinal.

The protagonist of the exhibit is this piece titled 'Mourning Athena.' The statue depicts the goddess of war and wisdom, after a battle. It dates back to the 5th century A.D. Even though no one knows who sculpted it, it's a very popular piece.

'It shows a goddess who has abandoned her royal scepter, but still keeps her spear. The question of course is why... Well, it's because she represents that after all, great victories can be reversed. It's necessary to stand up for things that have a high price.â?
This is the first time that this famous piece and 24 others, have left the Acropolis Museum in Athens. The exhibit will stay open until July, so that visitors can find out what they have in common with the first Europeans.
