The Vatican launched a new look for its homepage, making it more user friendly and slightly more high tech. Next to Pope Francis' profile, user will find a new section featuring text, photo and video highlights from the Vatican and the Pope, as well as a calendar of events.

Pope Francis' official Twitter account @Pontifex also features prominently on the revamped website. Users can read the Pope's latest tweets directly from a small, animated bar, which includes a link to his Twitter profile. The new page also provides direct access to special sections of the website. The first three published are: the Pope's message for World Youth Day 2014, the canonization of John XXIII and John Paul II, and a special section titled, 'Abuse of Minors. The Church's Response.â? PM/RCA RR FA -PR Up: PM
