Every year, the Pope welcomes members of the Papal Foundation at the Vatican's Sala Clementina. On Friday morning, he had his second meeting with the group, since becoming Pope.

POPE FRANCIS
'I'm very thankful for all the support the Papal Foundation has given to the Church. Through your donations, you've helped developing countries by supporting educational, charitable and missionary projects.â?

The Papal Foundation began in 1988 in the American city of Philadelphia. Since then its members or Stewards have donated over $200 million with roughly $96 million awarded in grants and scholarships.

POPE FRANCIS
'Your support includes an educational fund, that allows lay people, priests and religious to study in Rome.â?

The mission of the Papal Foundation is to help the Pope carry out projects that are important to him and to the Universal Church.
